I have been teaching languages in the UK since 2011, ranging from home language tuition to postgraduate studies in a variety of institutions, including universities. In all my teaching, I apply a student-centred approach; learning should be tailored to individual needs without forgetting the importance of group/peer support for one’s wider learning experience. I expect all my students to demonstrate and improve their abilities on the subject as my course develops, and in the past it has been my strength to motivate people to achieve their full potential.

For me, teaching is not just about a student’s ability to learn effectively, but it should also be about critical thinking, self-awareness and overall motivation for the specific subject area. Having gained my Trinity-certified TESOL certificate indicates that I’m a reliable, punctual and aware professional – a teacher on whom educational institutions and individual students can depend to do an effective job to the highest standards. I also believe that learning should be lots of fun! In effect, it’s often the key to success, and should never be underestimated as a teaching tool.

I’m multilingual in English, Finnish, German, French and Swedish. I have a BA and an MA from the University of Manchester, as well as a PhD from King’s College London, all in European Languages and Cultures.
