About Joanna O
Cambridge Undergrad tutoring Maths, Chemistry and Physics
During my A Levels, I spent half a year tutoring students on a one-to-one basis at my local homework club and I recently volunteered with a new online tutoring initiative. I also privately tutored several students online over the summer months last year, and they all returned to school with their understanding and confidence in their ability boosted, ready in time for the new academic year. Through these experiences I’ve been able to help students to better understand topics they are struggling with and have enjoyed seeing them maximise their potential.
My focus is helping primary school, Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level students who are studying Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics to be comfortable with the scientific concepts and to practice applying them to problems. My friendly and approachable nature enables me to work and communicate effectively with tutees throughout my sessions. I aim to develop the confidence and enthusiasm my students have for their subjects by having engaging discussions, working through examples together and tackling questions. I start by identifying what each individual hopes to get out of tutoring, so that I can tailor my lessons to their needs and ensure they receive a flexible and personalised tutoring experience designed for their success.
