About Rabiah S
Medicine student who tutors GCSE and A-level students
Through projects that I have participated in during my time at NCS I have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of mental health and the stress that exams can place on students. Therefore, whilst also providing you with important knowledge for your exams and your future studies, I also hope to be able to help alleviate the pressure that the examination process places on students.
I use a combination of different teaching methods to engage my students and tailor it to your needs and the subject I am teaching. I will first go through the content and basic knowledge you need to know through asking questions and focussing on what content you feel needs advancing. This helps information to be absorbed better so that you can gain an understanding of the knowledge rather than just memorising it, which will allow you to apply it to tricky AO2 questions in your exams. I also give exam questions from real exam papers that we work through together to tackle so that you can understand how to apply your AO1 knowledge to exam-style questions and understand what examiners are looking for in your answers. After going through each question, we can unpick the mark scheme and examiner's report to see what answers are required and where you can core rare marks to lift your grade. As well as this, I often conduct quizzes on topics we have already been through to make sure that the information and knowledge my student has been taught is being reinforced into their long-term memory in preparation for their exams. By conducting these quizzes we can also see how topics are all combined and there can be multiple topics mentioned in one question.
By working together on topics that you may struggle on, hopefully, it will help us become the best we can be in terms of studies and allow you to celebrate the progress made in our lessons.
I now have more availability so feel free to drop me a message to ask any questions you may have about me or my teaching methods!
