I am a pre-med student expected to finish my final year at The University of Warwick with a first class degree in biomedical sciences. I have a lot of experience in tutoring GCSE biology, as well as maths to students ages 4-17 at various tuition centres, helping my students improve their abilities and enter their exams assured that they are well prepared. Having consistently achieved the top grades throughout my academic career, I am confident that my methods will help other students also achieve. My degree in biomedical sciences has added a great depth to my understanding of biological processes, which has also been developed through research projects undertaken during internships. Having done medical school admissions tests myself and having also tutored students in the UKCAT for a couple of years, I am confident I can help students implement the best tactics to achieve the scores needed to study medicine.

I teach using diagrams and flow charts to explain key processes and concepts, making the learning process more engaging. I believe this method of active learning requires the student to think and infer, therefore allowing them to retain information at a greater capacity. I solidify the theory learnt by going through questions together to demonstrate the application of the theory. This also allows the student to feel confident before attempting questions themselves. I believe practice is essential in order to achieve the top grades so students will attempt a few questions in the lesson to develop their exam technique and build their understanding and confidence. Questions are also assigned as homework tasks which will be marked before the next lesson where feedback will be given. I also help students with any class work from school they are stuck on and give them the freedom to choose any topics they are struggling with to be covered in their lessons.
