About Sara H
Ages 11-18 Maths tutor
In 2017 I graduated from The University of Manchester in Genetics, one of the more quantitative life sciences. As I prepare to start a Master's in Bioinformatics at The University of Edinburgh - which would have only been possible with the help of the great and passionate Maths teachers I have had over the years - I am keen to help others in quite the same way.
In the year after graduating, I have gained a wealth of experience and transferable skills in communications, support and training, especially on an ad-hoc basis. First, I took on a role as a temporary front line IT support for St Luke’s Hospital in Bradford as they adjusted to the new Cerner Electronic Patient Record system, where I helped to train clinicians in how to complete their Standard Operating Procedures. Second, I was hired by a group in the NHS as a deployment officer for the North West London Whole Systems Integrated Care (WSIC) dashboard. As a deployment officer, I have helped to support the development and deployment of the dashboard by producing training resources and trouble-shooting for healthcare providers. Third, I completed a four-month internship at a healthcare communications company called De Facto where I produced thought leadership articles, liaised with journalists, and organised the press at the CPhI Worldwide conference in Frankfurt.
During Sixth Form, I mentored Year 7-9 students; helped engaged SEN children in reading, and ran a jogging club. Outside academia, I enjoy learning languages, swimming and art.
