A LEVEL/GCSE CHEMISTRY TUTOR
I am a dedicated and experienced chemistry educator who is being passionate about teaching profession which drives me to continuously updating my knowledge and grooming my skills to enunciate my abilities and potential in this industry.
I completed my Master’s of Science degree, specialised in organic chemistry and Bachelors of education in India. I completed my Graduate certification in International Education in International Baccalaureate-Diploma Program from University of Melbourne in 2019. I have completed my Post graduate Certificate (QTS) in Education in Chemistry from University of Bristol in July 2021.
I believe I have excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry and an understanding of the pedagogy of teaching science.
I enjoy interacting with students as they are full of energy, creativity, passion and have amazing ideas. Being an earnest and focused individual, I am capable to train my students in the respective subject by giving clear explanations, scaffolding and additional time and practice.
I am interested in the wider life of the school/college and have volunteered with my students in different school events as Sports commentary, stage conduction, science club competitions and other extracurricular events. I am working with tutor groups in my placement schools on my PGCE. These experiences enriched and bolstered my teaching as students became more comfortable and engaged and they perpetuated same in my classrooms.
Over the past ten years, I have worked with a wider range of schools as a chemistry educator. I am currently working with Whitmore High School as a Chemistry teacher. Transitioning from academia to the professional world, I gathered the competence in practical experience, creativity, time management, organizational skills, working in a team and many more. In my first school, I obtained the position of a senior chemistry faculty where seeing my effective communication skills I was assigned to organize different events. I had an experience of an international boarding school, where I was being associated with school clubs and houses for different school events and competitions. I got an experience of running small training sessions with my colleagues in term breaks for revising out pedagogical and IT skills and knowledge followed by carried out different duties during school annual functions, cultural programs, and sports days in addition to after school support to disadvantaged children on rotation basis. I worked in Singapore with Performers education centre for a period of three and a half years, where I taught Cambridge IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (Diploma Program) to students of different international schools.
I have opportunities to teach diverse group of students and can incorporate effective teaching methods to meet students’ unique requirements. I utilize innovative approach to introduce new concepts, connected with everyday life to foster an exciting and engaging atmosphere. In addition, my great capacity to sustain strong working relationship of with my team is appreciated by everyone. I am well adapted in classroom instruction, development of planners and parent teacher relationship.
I had my first PGCE placement with St. Bedes RC College, which was an excellent organisation and I got immense improvement in my knowledge, structuring of resources, use of positive language, questioning strategies, behaviour management, clear expectations and guidelines and so on with consistent support of my associate and professional tutor. I am currently placed in Clifton College where I will be working on building relationships with students, getting knowledge of subject specifications of my non-specialist subjects, assessment for learning and adapting my teaching resources tailored to student’s needs by differentiation strategies.
I feel that my deep knowledge and cumulative experience in the concerned field would be a great asset to your institute.
